Job summary

Louisville Metro Government is seeking a data analyst and audit professional to perform internal performance audits and reviews, analyze data, and prepare reports for command staff. The role ensures compliance with state law, local ordinances, DOJ requirements, and departmental policy, working with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include field investigations, data collection, interviewing staff, developing audit plans, and communicating findings to inform improvements in department

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Economics, Information Technology or related discipline.
• Five years conducting research, audits, reviews, compliance work, and/or evaluations and reports including quantitative and/or qualitative data collection.
• Equivalency: an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted.
• Must meet other minimum requirements including background checks and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts complex, specialized law enforcement internal performance audits and reviews to determine compliance with departmental regulations.
• Conducts field work investigations, data analysis, and interviews required to accomplish the audits.
• Develops and designs audit and review work plans, project scopes, methodologies, and compliance testing instruments to facilitate internal audits.
• Produces and communicates written and oral reports on audit results for internal and external use.
• Identifies methods for improving the operations of the department.
