State of Oklahoma is seeking a Law Enforcement Park Ranger at Lake Murray State Park to patrol park grounds, protect visitors and staff, and enforce laws and regulations. The role includes responding to incidents, issuing citations, and assisting in investigations as well as testifying in court when required.

Ideal candidates will hold a CLEET certification or state equivalent, be at least 21, possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, and pass background checks and pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess Peace Officer CLEET certification or out-of-state equivalent.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and polygraph.
  • Pass Oklahoma Law Enforcement Retirement System physical.
  • Rigid background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol designated areas of the lake and state park, ensuring safety and enforcement of laws.
  • Assist visitors and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, issue warnings and citations, and participate in arrests as needed.
  • Provide testimony in court and support other law enforcement agencies.

After successful completion of a one-year trial period with OTRD, the rate of pay may increase to $21.78/hr.Job DescriptionBasic PurposePositions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving patrolling park/resort grounds and property and the enforcement of laws, rules and regulations within the assigned area of responsibility.
