Job summary

Adams County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting for an Academy Cadet position within a formal law enforcement training program approved by the Colorado Peace Officer Standards Training Board. Recruits undergo classroom and practical instruction in criminal and civil law, investigations, patrol activities, and report writing, with physical training and standard testing.

Upon completing academy training, candidates will take the Colorado P.O.S.T. test and work toward certification.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age prior to June 2027.
• Must have a Valid driver's license.
• Must meet criteria established by P.O.S.T. if you are a Non-United States Citizens.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the testing and background process to select the most qualified candidates.
• Attend all scheduled academy training sessions.
• Prepare written reports.
• Engage in regular physical training and field activities in various environmental conditions.
• Participate in formal inspections.
• Upon successful completion of academy training, take the Colorado P.O.S.T. test and pursue certification.
