Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years old.
• One (1) year of satisfactory work experience.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation.
• Within one year of hire, must complete POST Academy requirements and be certified.

Responsibilities

• Attends and completes the Deputy Sheriff Academy as part of training.
• Learn police methods, traffic and criminal laws.
• Participate in training and testing processes including physical agility, written exams, and background checks.
• Perform essential duties under supervision and progressively assume responsibilities as training progresses.
