Job summary

The Law Firms in California is seeking a qualified attorney to join our plaintiff-side personal injury practice with 30+ years of experience and over $1 billion recovered for clients. You will draft, review, and argue motions in California civil litigation and advance complex cases toward summary judgment.

Ideal candidates hold a J.D., current California Bar membership, and at least 2 years in civil litigation with strong motion-drafting skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active CA Bar membership.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably plaintiff-side personal injury.
• Strong experience drafting and arguing complex motions and handling California rules.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and argue substantive motions in California civil litigation.
• Prepare motions for summary judgment and adjudication.
• Draft demurrers, motions to strike, and motions in limine.
• Prepare oppositions, replies, and supporting memoranda.
• Handle discovery motions and review pleadings and transcripts.
• Ensure filings comply with California court rules and deadlines.

Up to $200,000 Base + Bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and argue substantive legal motions in California civil litigation matters.
• Prepare motions for summary judgment and summary adjudication.
• Draft demurrers, motions to strike, and motions in limine.
• Prepare oppositions, replies, and supporting Memorandums of Points and Authorities.
• Handle discovery-related motions, including motions to compel.
• Review pleadings, deposition transcripts, discovery responses, and supporting evidence.
• Ensure all motions and legal filings comply with California court rules and procedural deadlines.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• 2+ Experience in civil litigation, preferably plaintiff-side personal injury.
• Strong experience drafting and responding to complex legal motions.
• Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure and local court rules.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$160,000 – $200,000 annually]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
