Job summary

Sodexo Group is hiring a Laundry Worker at NYC Health and Hospitals – Bellevue. You will operate washers, dryers, irons, and other laundry equipment to wash, dry, fold, sort, and mend clothes and linens, ensuring neat uniforms for staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• 1-2 years of related work experience preferred.
• May require a valid driver’s license depending on location.
• Bloodborne Pathogen Training may be needed based on location.

Responsibilities

• Operate washers, dryers, irons, steamers, folders, and sewing machines safely and efficiently.
• Mend and repair uniforms and other textiles; document unusable items and report to Supervisor.
• Track and verify laundry lists, count articles, and prepare discrepancy reports.
• Maintain cleanliness in laundry areas by cleaning and restocking.
• Requisition, transport, and restock supplies; manage chemical storage as required.
• Walk and stand for extended periods; mobility required.
