Job summary

The Glebe - LifeSpire in Newport News, VA seeks a Laundry Tech–Environmental Services for the full-time day shift (7:30am–4pm) at The Chesapeake. You will manage laundry processes, operate washers/dryers, and ensure linens are clean, labeled, and ready for residents.

Responsibilities

• Control the temperature of water, soaps, and chemicals to safely clean laundry equipment.
• Extract and dry washed linens.
• Collect soiled linens, then fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry.
• Mark linens for proper identification.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laundry room and storage areas.
• Report equipment malfunctions to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Control the temperature of water amounts of soap solution, and other chemicals to clean but not damage equipment or laundry.
• Extract and dry washed linens.
• Collect soiled linens. Fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry.
• Mark linens for proper identification.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laundry room and linen storage areas.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the Director of Facility Services or management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
