Job summary

LifeSpire of Virginia’s The Chesapeake in Newport News, VA is hiring a Laundry Tech– Environmental Services for the Full-Time Day Shift (7:30am - 4pm). You will help maintain clean linens and support resident services with a courteous, reliable team.

Responsibilities include operating washing and drying equipment, sorting linens, labeling, and reporting equipment issues. We value teamwork, safety, and compassionate care in a faith-based community.

Qualifications

• Capable of standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks.
• Pleasant personality and patience with residents, guests, and team members.
• Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Control the temperature of water amounts of soap solution, and other chemicals to clean but not damage equipment or laundry.
• Extract and dry washed linens.
• Collect soiled linens. Fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry.
• Mark linens for proper identification.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laundry room and linen storage areas.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the Director of Facility Services or management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
