Job summary

Vestis in Springfield, IL is seeking a Material Handler for the second shift (Mon-Fri, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM) to perform duties in an industrial laundry facility. You will help ensure safe, expeditious processing of merchandise through washing and drying, verify tickets, and maintain proper loading and moisture levels.

Responsibilities include safety checks, batch ticket verification, equipment operation, and strict adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
Working knowledge of basic math skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Responsibilities

Check all machine safety devices before operating equipment and record the safety form.
Load washer by moving slings and ensure batch tickets match.
Operate washer/dryer with correct settings and monitor moisture levels.
Record batch ticket data in system and on forms.
Ensure proper moisture, load balance, and cooling of items.
Identify torn slings and remove them from service.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment; perform other duties as assigned.
