Job summary

Cherrywood Post Acute is seeking a reliable Laundry/Housekeeping Aide to provide quality linen supply, operate washers and dryers, and keep the facility sanitary.

Responsibilities include sorting, washing, drying, folding, labeling residents' clothing, delivering to rooms, and maintaining inventory while following safety procedures. No certifications required; GED or HS diploma preferred; 1 year of experience preferred. Lifts up to 50 pounds; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to problem solve and seek assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Make available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.
• Maintain linen in good repair and remove damaged items from service.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Sort, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.

General PurposePerforms a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, and free from offensive orders.Essential DutiesMake available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.Maintain all linen in good repair and remove from service any linen with holes and/or stains.Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.Label new resident’s clothing items as neededSorting, treat, wash, dry and fold clothing and linensDeliver clean laundry items to resident roomsFollows all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties Maintain inventory of laundry suppliesUse all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner.Report laundry equipment issues to the AdministratorSupervisory RequirementsThis position has no supervisory responsibilitiesQualificationEducation and/or ExperienceGED or High School Diploma1 year of experience preferredLanguage SkillsAbility to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping proceduresMathematical SkillsBasic math skillsReasoning AbilityAbility to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsNo certifications requiredPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
