Job summary

Fairfield Inn & Suites Naperville/Aurora is seeking a Laundry Attendant to clean, press, and fold hotel textiles, and manage item tracking for guests. You will also advise on laundering-related services and maintain an orderly facility.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational and interpersonal skills, a willingness to work 8-hour night shifts, weekends and holidays, and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
• Prior experience in a similar role is preferable.
• Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40–50 pounds.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Laundry Operations: Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold clothing and other textile items.
• Track and maintain a monthly waste log of stained or discarded items.
• Remove stains using appropriate procedures; perform minor sewing duties.
• Maintain updated inventory of laundry detergents and chemicals; track repairs on laundering equipment.
• Ensure the facility remains clean and orderly; handle guest items with care.

Job Overview

The Laundry Attendant's responsibilities include cleaning, pressing, and folding clothes and other textile articles. The ideal candidate will also maintain records of which items belong to whom and consult with customers about supplementary laundering-related services. To be successful, you should demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. [CM1]

Key Responsibilities

• Laundry Operations:
  
  
  
  • Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold clothing and other textile items.
  
  
  • Track and maintain a monthly waste log of any stained or discarded items.
  
  
  • Remove stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
  
  
  • Perform minor sewing duties.
  
  
  • “Maintain an updated inventory of laundry detergents and other chemicals” Track maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment.

  • Anticipate and respond to customers' queries, concerns, and complaints.
  
  
  
  


• General Responsibilities:
  
  
  
  • Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g., steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning, etc.) as required.
  
  
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.
  
  
  • Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests (e.g., iron and ironing boards).
  
  
  
  


• Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by the manager/ supervisor.

Qualifications
