Job summary

Garner by IHG in San Juan, Puerto Rico is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to maintain high standards for all hotel textiles. You will sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold linens, towels, and uniforms, ensuring impeccable cleanliness.

You will identify stains, operate laundry equipment safely, monitor inventory, and collaborate with housekeeping to deliver clean textiles on time. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Qualifications

• Fully bilingual in Spanish and English to facilitate communication with guests and team members.
• Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift heavy objects as needed.
• Reliable and available to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Laundry Operations: Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold textiles including linens, towels, uniforms, and other hotel items.
• Stain removal: Identify and treat stains to restore items to pristine condition.
• Load management: Load/unload laundry from washers and dryers safely and efficiently.
• Equipment maintenance: Inspect and report malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Inventory control: Monitor inventory levels of supplies and notify when reordering is required; participate in end-of-month linen inventory.
• Sanitation standards: Follow sanitation and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Collaboration: Work with housekeeping and other departments to ensure timely delivery of clean textiles.

This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 24/7, requiring flexibility and adaptability to changing business demands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Laundry Operations: Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold various textiles, including linens, towels, uniforms, and other hotel items.
• Stain Removal: Identify and treat stains on items using appropriate techniques and cleaning agents to ensure items are restored to pristine condition.
• Load Management: Efficiently load and unload laundry from washers and dryers, ensuring machines are operated in accordance with safety standards and procedures.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain laundry equipment, reporting any malfunctions or required repairs to management.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and chemicals, notifying management when reordering is required. Participate in end of month linen inventory.
• Sanitation Standards: Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment in the laundry area.
• Collaboration: Work closely with housekeeping and other departments to ensure timely delivery of clean linens and textiles to support hotel operations.
