Job summary

The GATEWAY HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTER in Ames, Iowa, is looking for a dedicated Housekeeping Attendant. You will assist the Housekeeping Manager in maintaining high standards for laundering linens and ensuring adequate stock of supplies.

About this position

Job Purpose: Assist the Housekeeping Manager and Supervisors to ensure all housekeeping laundry is properly and efficiently laundered, as well as maintaining adequate stock for each department’s clean linens, tools and supplies.

• Washing, drying, folding and pressing of linens according to hotel quality standards
• Sorting and washing items on proper machine cycle
• Follow procedures for treating and removing stains, when required
• Distribute clean, neatly folded linen to room attendant's storage areas

Requirements

• Basic reading and writing
• Housekeeping experience preferred
• Must have a strong attention to detail
• Attendants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and push heavy carts without assistance repeatedly
• Must be a fast‑pace worker and work well with others
• Repetitive motions of standing up and moving about the facility, frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling are required
• Must be able to work nights, weekend, and some holidays
