Location: Hampton Inn Jekyll Island

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the washing, folding, and restocking of the hotel’s laundry in a timely, organized manner. The laundry area must always be kept clean, and the equipment must be maintained and serviced regularly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner, maintaining a positive demeanor.
• Promote a positive work environment by addressing and resolving conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain regular attendance as scheduled, which may vary according to property needs.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
• Ensure linen and uniform washing, drying, folding, and discarding adhere to standards.
• Maintain and coordinate the upkeep and repair of laundry equipment with Maintenance.
• Keep linens and laundry supplies stocked and organized.
• Coordinate linen distribution among departments and guest rooms.
• Handle lost and found items according to company standards.
• Monitor cleanliness of linen and lint traps.
• Address and resolve guest complaints promptly and accurately.
• Anticipate the needs of guests and team members, showing initiative in job performance.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, reporting safety issues immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of housekeeping or laundry experience in hospitality preferred.
• Experience in team management is preferred.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, or scheduled instructions.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Team player with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
