Job summary

Kiawah Island Golf Resort is seeking a Laundry Attendant to operate the laundry facility daily, handling linen and terry processing. You will collaborate with team members to ensure timely cleaning and proper linen flow across the resort, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires basic laundry knowledge, a willingness to work flexible hours, and the ability to work independently when needed. On-site position with benefits and growth opportunities within housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of resort activities to ensure timely department needs.
• Basic knowledge of laundry services and 1 year of laundry experience preferred.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Able to follow directions and show respect to others.

Responsibilities

• Operate the laundry facility daily and handle linen and terry processing.
• Manage linen flow from breaking down bags to folding and flatwork.
• Work with a team to ensure proper cleaning and processing of linens for the resort.
• Adhere to health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Set up and organize workstation with supplies and equipment.
• Restock supplies and keep the area clean after each shift.
• Monitor linen condition and sort by type or stain.
• Report faulty equipment or shortages to supervisor immediately.
• Store cleaning chemicals safely per OSHA and hotel requirements.
• Prepare work areas for the next shift and work without direct supervision.

Position Summary:

Under direction of the laundry supervisor, the attendant will be responsible for daily operation of plant including, processing tasks related to linen and terry. This position requires teamwork and flexible hours.

Pay Rate:

The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications:

Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily operation of the laundry facility, including processing tasks related to linen and terry.
• Responsible for linen flow as it relates to the breaking down bags, sorting areas, folding areas and flatwork processing.
• Work heavily with a team to ensure the proper cleaning and processing of all linens for the entire resort.
• Responsible for linen flow as it relates to the sorting areas, folding areas and flatwork processing.
• Adhere to all health department, sanitation and safety regulation as required by the resort.
• Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment.
• Replenish supplies and equipment as needed during the shift as well as making sure the working area is cleaned up after the shift.
• Monitor conditions of linens and sort appropriately, either in the stained pile or according to the linen type.
• Report faulty equipment, linen shortages, maintenance needs, safely hazards and other problems immediately to your supervisor.
• Will work with, and properly store, cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Restock work areas for the next shift, as assigned.
• Will need to be able to work without direct supervision.
• Uphold the core values and policies and procedures of the resort.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift minimum weight of 25 lbs. across short-medium distances.
• Must physically be able to transport linen(s) over the course of a full shift, and remain standing for a vast majority of that shift.
• Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, intense work environment, sometimes under extreme heat and stress, and must be able to remain calm.
