Job summary

Kiawah Island Golf Resort is hiring a Laundry Attendant to support daily laundry operations for linen and terry items. The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety guidelines, and the ability to work independently when needed.

Employees will handle linen flow, assist with folding and sorting, and ensure timely processing across all resort areas. On-site work with standard resort benefits and a hands-on team environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of laundry services and 1 year of laundry experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to follow directions and show respect to colleagues and management.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation of laundry facility and processing tasks for linen and terry.
• Oversee linen flow from sorting to flatwork processing with team support.
• Ensure proper cleaning and processing of all linens for the resort.
• Adhere to health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Set up workstation, replenish supplies, and maintain a clean work area.

Position Summary

Under direction of the laundry supervisor, the attendant will be responsible for daily operation of plant including, processing tasks related to linen and terry. This position requires teamwork and flexible hours.Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of resort activities is required to ensure timeliness of department needs that would be outlined by supervisor.
• Basic knowledge of laundry services and 1 year of laundry experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Must be able to follow directions and show respect to other employees, supervisor and management.

Expectations & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily operation of the laundry facility, including processing tasks related to linen and terry.
• Responsible for linen flow as it relates to the breaking down bags, sorting areas, folding areas and flatwork processing.
• Work heavily with a team to ensure the proper cleaning and processing of all linens for the entire resort.
• Responsible for linen flow as it relates to the sorting areas, folding areas and flatwork processing.
• Adhere to all health department, sanitation and safety regulation as required by the resort.
• Set up and organize workstation with designated supplies and equipment.
• Replenish supplies and equipment as needed during the shift as well as making sure the working area is cleaned up after the shift.
• Monitor conditions of linens and sort appropriately, either in the stained pile or according to the linen type.
• Report faulty equipment, linen shortages, maintenance needs, safely hazards and other problems immediately to your supervisor.
• Will work with, and properly store, cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Restock work areas for the next shift, as assigned.
• Will need to be able to work without direct supervision.
• Uphold the core values and policies and procedures of the resort.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift minimum weight of 25 lbs. across short-medium distances.
• Must physically be able to transport linen(s) over the course of a full shift, and remain standing for a vast majority of that shift.
• Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, intense work environment, sometimes under extreme heat and stress, and must be able to remain calm.
