Job Description Summary
The Laundry Attendant (LA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team in the commercial laundry facility, ensuring linens are cleaned and stored in a timely, organized manner to meet the hotel’s laundry needs. The LA may also clean guest rooms and public spaces, following brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent service following Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
- Sort and inspect soiled laundry, record damages or stains.
- Operate washers and dryers per standards and guidelines.
- Monitor supplies and equipment, report damages.
- Fold, store linens, and report damages.
- Clean assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash.
- Notify supervisors when rooms are ready or if issues arise.
- Report repairs or unsafe conditions.
- Respond to guest requests and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
- Minimize waste of supplies.
- Handle lost and found items properly.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
- Promote teamwork and communication with other staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience in commercial laundry.
- Preferred: Background in extended stay industry.
- English fluency preferred; other languages beneficial.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals required.
- Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
