Job Description Summary

The Laundry Attendant (LA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team in the commercial laundry facility, ensuring linens are cleaned and stored in a timely, organized manner to meet the hotel’s laundry needs. The LA may also clean guest rooms and public spaces, following brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service following Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Sort and inspect soiled laundry, record damages or stains.
• Operate washers and dryers per standards and guidelines.
• Monitor supplies and equipment, report damages.
• Fold, store linens, and report damages.
• Clean assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash.
• Notify supervisors when rooms are ready or if issues arise.
• Report repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Respond to guest requests and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Minimize waste of supplies.
• Handle lost and found items properly.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Promote teamwork and communication with other staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Experience in commercial laundry.
• Preferred: Background in extended stay industry.
• English fluency preferred; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals required.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
