Job summary

GREENWOOD 50 SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a part-time temporary facilities assistant to manage the district laundromat for homeless families. The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, orderly environment and coordinating adults for available time slots, while logging usage for documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Department: Administration Department
Reports To: Director of Student Services/Assistant Superintendent for Administration
SUMMARY: Facilitate the operation of the district laundromat for homeless families and maintain order in the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other Duties May Be Assigned.
  • Operates and cares for equipment used in the laundromat.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
  • Schedules adults for available time slots.
  • Distributes laundry supplies as needed to adults utilizing the facility.
  • Maintains an accurate log of use for documentation purposes.
  • Alerts the supervisor of any problem or special information about the operation of the facility.
  • Participates in inservice training programs as assigned.
  • Ensures parenting materials are provided for families while they wait at the facility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to develop effective working relationships with parents, students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.
