Location: Hampton Inn Jekyll Island

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the washing, folding, and restocking of the hotel’s laundry in a timely, organized manner. The laundry area must always be kept clean, and equipment must be maintained and serviced regularly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner, maintaining a positive demeanor.
• Promote a positive work environment by addressing and resolving conflicts calmly.
• Maintain regular attendance as required by the schedule, which varies according to the property's needs.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
• Ensure linen and uniform washing, drying, folding, and discarding are performed according to standards.
• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all laundry equipment, coordinating with Maintenance for repairs.
• Keep linens and laundry supplies stocked and maintained.
• Coordinate linen distribution among departments and guest rooms.
• Handle items for “Lost and Found” according to company standards.
• Monitor cleanliness of linen and lint traps.
• Address and resolve guest complaints quickly and accurately.
• Show initiative by anticipating the needs of guests and team members.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, reporting safety issues immediately.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of housekeeping or laundry experience in hospitality preferred.
• Experience in team management preferred.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or scheduled form.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Team player.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
