A leading healthcare provider is seeking a part-time Laundry Assistant for weekends to join their team in Rockland. The position requires meeting laundry needs and maintaining equipment safety while providing on-the-job training. We are hiring a part-time weekend Laundry Assistant to join our dynamic care team at South Shore Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Rockland!
Shift is 6a-2p on weekends. Weekly pay at $16 an hour.

As a member of our housekeeping team, you perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department to ensure that the laundry department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
Education and Experience:
No education required, on-the-job training provided. A minimum of one (1) year experience in laundry operations preferred, but not necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet the laundry needs of the facility.
Ensure laundry process completion and delivery of adequate linen levels, in a timely way.
Assure that all laundry machinery, equipment are in a safe and efficient working condition.
Maintains chemicals under safe conditions at all times.
Remove torn, worn, soiled linen or clothing from inventory.
Mend and iron as necessary.
Complies with privacy practices and protects residents’ health information.
Other duties assigned by managerial team.
Specific Requirements:
The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
Must be knowledgeable of laundry practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing laundry functions in the long-term care facility.
Must possess a willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of laundry areas, must perform regular inspections of laundry areas for sanitation, order, and safety.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing laundry practices.
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition/incident.
