Job summary

Elmora Hills Healthcare is seeking a part-time Laundry Aide in Elizabeth, NJ to join our nursing home team. The role is responsible for washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident clothing and facility linens while keeping the laundry area clean and organized.

Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or with a team. Previous laundry or healthcare experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be dependable, organized, and detail oriented.
• Ability to push/pull laundry carts and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, and fold resident clothing and facility linens.
• Distribute clean laundry to residents and designated areas.
• Ensure resident clothing is properly labeled and returned to the correct resident.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry department.
• Report damaged linens, equipment issues, or supply needs to the supervisor.
• Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
• Provide courteous service to residents, families, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
