Job summary

Avina of Kenosha is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide to perform daily laundering of the facility’s soiled linen and, when appropriate, resident personal laundry. The role emphasizes adherence to infection control procedures and proper handling of laundry chemicals.

The position requires attention to safety, timely response to call lights, teamwork with staff, and a respectful, caring approach toward Guests/guests. Training and collaboration with supervisors are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.

Responsibilities

• Sorts soiled laundry following infection control procedures.
• Loads and unloads laundry into machines and monitors operation.
• Sorts, labels, folds, mends, counts and irons laundry.
• Maintains infection control and safety practices at all times.
• Reports hazardous conditions or equipment issues to supervisor.
• Maintains guest comfort, privacy and dignity and interacts warmly.
• Responds promptly to call lights in guest care areas.
• Assists with training of new staff.
• Communicates effectively with guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Laundry Aide Job Summary

The primary job responsibility of the Laundry Aide is to complete the daily laundering of the facility’s soiled linen, as well as to launder resident personal laundry when appropriate.

Laundry Aide Job Description

• Sorts soiled laundry in accordance with established infection control procedures.
• Loads and unloads laundry into and out of washing and drying machines using laundry chemicals and monitors machines while in use.
• Sorts, labels, folds, mends, counts and irons clean laundry.
• Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
• Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests/guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
• Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Guest care areas.
• Assists with training of new staff.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
