Avina Healthcare is seeking a Laundry Aide to support daily laundering of soiled linen and resident personal laundry when needed.

Responsibilities include sorting, loading machines, folding, and maintaining infection control practices while upholding resident comfort, privacy, and dignity. English reading/writing skills are required and staff may train with the team.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and participate in departmental meetings.

• Maintains infection control practices and safety precautions at all times.
• Notifies supervisor of hazardous conditions or equipment issues.
• Maintains guest privacy and dignity while interacting with guests and staff.
• Responds promptly to call lights in guest care areas.
• Assists with training of new staff.
• Communicates effectively with guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Laundry Aide Job Summary:

The primary job responsibility of the Laundry Aide is to complete the daily laundering of the facility’s soiled linen, as well as to launder resident personal laundry when appropriate.

Laundry Aide Job Description:

• Sorts soiled laundry in accordance with established infection control procedures.
• Loads and unloads laundry into and out of washing and drying machines using laundry chemicals and monitors machines while in use.
• Sorts, labels, folds, mends, counts and irons clean laundry.
• Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
• Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Guests/guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
• Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Guest care areas.
• Assists with training of new staff.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
