Responsibilities

Statement of Purpose: Works under the supervision of the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor. The Laundry Aide launders, distributes, and stores washable linen, garments, and personal clothing to ensure availability for patients, employees, and guests, in accordance with hospital standards and mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Launder linens at appropriate temperatures to meet infection control regulations and standards.
• Segregate worn, stained, or imperfect articles.
• Dispense proper amounts of detergent and germicidal solutions as per manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets.
• Perform extra assignments willingly.
• Organize and replenish linen closets daily to meet patient care needs.
• Transport linens to designated areas timely.
• Close department at shift end: secure windows and doors, turn off water, steam valves, fans, and lights.
• Attend department meetings and in-services as scheduled.
• Maintain equipment, ensure safety, and keep work area clean: check equipment, replace disposable parts, and store equipment properly.
• Report repairs and unsafe conditions to supervisor and maintenance staff.

• Education: Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Interpersonal Skills: Good relations with staff, patients, visitors; maintain confidentiality.
• Physical Effort: Medium physical demand.

Pay Range

$15.00 - $19.82 per hour.
