Primary Responsibilities

The Laundry Aide is responsible for providing the full range of laundry services to the facility, staff, and residents, and for maintaining a successful laundry program that meets facility quality assurance standards.

Essential Functions

• Follow established policies and procedures of laundry tasks
• Use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transport them to the laundry department
• Use proper protective clothing and equipment while performing laundry duties
• Maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and follow the laundry department schedules
• Maintain the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents' rights, privacy, and property are protected at all times
• Report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints, or allegations according to the facility’s policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting system

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of 50 lbs
• Must be able to do constant walking, bending, lifting, and standing for long periods during a scheduled shift
