Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Tower & Launch Mount on Starship in Florida. You will design, test, and implement manufacturable solutions for ground-support structures, tooling, and processes used to build first versions of the launch mount and tower.

You will collaborate with analysts, design teams, and production staff, lead on-site design engineering, and help drive continual improvement, while ensuring readiness for hardware deadlines at rocket scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other engineering discipline
• 1+ year(s) hands-on project experience with mechanical systems (internship and project experience applies)
• GD&T concepts and FEA experience preferred
• Experience with large steel structures and pressurized systems helpful

Responsibilities

• Work with analysts and design team to ensure tower design meets requirements and manufacturing processes
• Develop production procedures and transition parts from development to production
• Coordinate testing of systems and tooling to meet hardware deadlines
• Lead design reviews with suppliers and customers
• Create CAD models and prints for flight and tooling components
• Maintain build schedules and resolve manufacturing discrepancies with quality team
