Job summary

Stoke Space is hiring a launch engineer for our Cape Canaveral complex. You will design, fabricate, and maintain ground support equipment and tooling to enable rapid development and high cadence launches.

You will work with technicians and vendors to plan fabrication, testing, and installation, and you will generate essential workflow documentation. You must have a strong mechanical background, CAD experience (NX/Teamcenter), and knowledge of GD&T, machining, welding, and hydraulics.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an engineer at a launch site or similar high-performance setting.
• Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals across disciplines with an emphasis on mechanical.
• Experience with NX/Teamcenter or similar 3D CAD and configuration control software.
• Experience with designing for and understanding machining, welding, GD&T, and related processes.
• Familiarity with hydraulics and pressurized systems.
• Familiarity with mechanical industrial standards (ASME, AWS) and range requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering or similar.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and implement real-time solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, test, and utilize launch site tooling and GSE.
• Upgrade, modify, maintain, and use existing tooling to improve launch operations.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and vendors to plan, fabricate, test, and install GSE.
• Generate, execute, and maintain workflow documentation.
• Continuously improve launch operations for high-cadence launches and recovery.
