Job summary

Amentum is hiring at Kennedy Space Center in Florida for a skilled technician to support crane systems, doors and platforms. You will perform installation, maintenance and testing on complex mechanical and electrical assemblies in a safety‑driven environment.

The role requires experience with mechanical and electromechanical systems, reading schematics, and using precision tools. Occasional travel and potential security clearances may be involved; a strong safety record is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with technical training.
• 3 years of related experience in mechanical/electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• Preference for formal apprenticeship or military technical training.
• Proficiency with hand tools, torque wrenches and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, modify, repair, calibrate and test fixed cranes, doors, and platforms.
• Understand mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, hydraulic and lubrication systems.
• Operate fixed cranes, doors and platforms as required for operations and maintenance.
• Review written instructions, blueprints, diagrams and vendor manuals.
• Conduct functional tests on refurbished or modified systems and components.
