Job summary

Shape Corp is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop APQP documentation and lead quality initiatives across manufacturing and supplier interfaces. You will support product realization with FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP and ensure documentation compliance and retrievability.

You will interface with customers on quality issues, participate in ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 processes, and drive training, containment, and corrective actions. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field or minimum 3 years automotive experience.
• Proficient in GD&T and tolerance stack‑up.
• Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP).
• Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop APQP documentation to support Product Realization per customer requirements (FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP).
• Maintain documentation meeting Shape Corp specs for document control and retrievability.
• Interface with customers to resolve quality issues and concerns.
• Participate in developing and maintaining formal quality systems (ISO 9001 & IATF 16949).
• Launch quality: implement total quality management for zero launch findings; manage PPAP.
• Manufacturing quality: support changes, train operators on control plans and gage instructions.
