Responsibilities
APQP: Review customer drawings and specifications; perform feasibility and contract reviews.
PPAP: Plan and prepare documentation for new customer products.
Develop and maintain Flow Charts, Control Plans, and PFMEAs.
Serve as primary contact for customer complaints.
Analyze and resolve customer complaints, provide corrective actions, and report findings back to the customer.
Complete countermeasure reports and present results to customers.
Conduct trend analysis of quality issues (internal and external) and develop corrective improvement plans.
Support and perform Process Capability Studies to drive improvements.
Identify gaging needs, develop/order gages, and ensure Gage R&R acceptability.
Prepare new product documents and inspection reports.
Understand and implement Customer Specific Requirements in manufacturing.
Train QA associates in quality functions.
Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude; learn, understand, and explain manufacturing processes.
Support and perform Quality Management System audits for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
Travel as required (domestic and international) to acquire knowledge of product assembly and utilization.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
Investigate and report on quality problems.
Required Qualifications
ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 experience.
Minimum 3 years of Quality or Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
Knowledge of and ability to use quality tools: 5-Why, 8D, 5P, Fishbone Diagram, SPC, R&R, etc.
Experience with APQP, AOAG review/approval, and implementation of product specifications and standards.
Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control, gaging, and Gage R&R.
Self-motivated with the ability to plan, prepare, and implement actions daily to monitor and improve quality systems with minimal supervision.
