Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to specification, design, validation, and launch of machining systems for engine and transmission components. You will work with engineers, operations personnel, and suppliers to drive tooling, gauging, and process documentation in a hybrid setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical/manufacturing engineering (or equivalent) and 1+ years in manufacturing, with strong project management and CAD skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environments and cross-functional teams.
• Strong PC skills; proficient with Excel and presentation tools.
• Familiarity with PFMEA and quality improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Manufacturing Delivery Quality OS requirements for your subsystem.
• Collaborate with Product Development to manage tooling costs and quality.
• Use virtual tools to evaluate feasibility of high-volume designs.
• Write/modify process sheets and update cycle line layouts.
• Lead issue resolution for assembly and machining feasibility.
• Develop a master schedule for tool design, build, and implementation.
• Lead tooling installation, start-up, and vendor tooling buyoffs.
• Address launch product and tooling issues; drive lessons learned.
• Support SQDCPMEI initiatives and cross-functional interfaces.
