Job summary

You will collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, and plants, travel up to 50% and guide equipment installation, bid evaluations, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience.
• Working knowledge of GD&T; reading engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of Gears and related Round Parts manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs in Michigan.
• Utilize machining process knowledge to deliver an efficient and optimized process regarding quality, costs, timing, and footprint.
• Support equipment installation, power on, run capability, and equipment handover to the powertrain plants.
• Initiate bids, evaluate, recap bids for equipment purchase; work with Purchasing to write and place orders.
• Work with OEMs, suppliers, Product, and Plant engineering teams to resolve engineering and program delivery issues.
• Interface and coordinate project related items such as facilities, safety, ergonomics, material handling & kitting, tooling, and gauging.
• Support discrete event simulation for constraint analysis; work with IE to assess and improve throughput.
• Travel up to 50% in support of assigned projects in collaboration with OEMs, Tooling, Gauging, and related equipment suppliers.
