Job summary

Actalent in Cocoa, FL is seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer to join a highly technical team supporting Kennedy Space Center power systems. You will help design, install, commission, and expand electrical power systems to support launch operations, with current demand around 22 MW and plans for significant expansion.

You will work onsite, applying skills in load calculations, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and electrical drawings, while coordinating with construction and operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1 year of experience or equivalent in power distribution or heavy electrical systems.
• Solid understanding of electrical distribution fundamentals and NEC.
• Ability to perform load calculations and conductor sizing.
• Onsite work at Kennedy Space Center and willingness for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement LV/MV/HV power distribution for launch and facility operations.
• Specify and integrate switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and facility infra.
• Develop distribution solutions for expansion to meet growing demand.
• Perform load calculations, conductor sizing, equipment selection.
• Create one-line diagrams, layouts, and system studies.
• Prepare work packages and installation instructions for field teams.
• Support commissioning, startup, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with construction, operations, and engineering teams.
• Track progress and report to stakeholders.
