Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Entry Level Distribution Engineer to join an established power engineering team in Orlando, FL. This role focuses on design and support of power distribution projects while developing technical expertise in a collaborative, industry-leading environment.

Responsibilities include performing engineering calculations, coordinating protective devices, supporting permitting and BOM development, and collaborating with engineers, designers and construction partners.

Qualifications

ABET Accredited Bachelors degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
Proficiency with AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of electric power distribution systems.

Responsibilities

Design and support power distribution projects from development through completion.
Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, and fault currents.
Coordinate protective devices and distribution system requirements.
Support permitting, Right-of-Way acquisition, and forestry trimming requests.
Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and project cost estimates.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, and construction partners.
Approximately 90% design/engineering work and 10% fieldwork.
