Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced design engineer to design, fabricate, operate, and maintain Terran R launch pad facilities. You will collaborate across propulsion, manufacturing, software, and avionics to bring the ground systems from concept to operation.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware, project management, and solving complex fluid and piping challenges in a high-pressure aerospace program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years in a full cycle design engineering role including analysis, build and test.
  • Fundamental knowledge of incompressible & compressible flow, heat transfer, and pipe stress.
  • Strong project lifecycle and project management background.
  • Hands-on hardware build experience and proven problem-solving ability.
  • Clear communication to lead discussions on technical topics.

Responsibilities

  • Design launch pad infrastructure and support facilities.
  • Fabricate, operate, and maintain Terran R launch pad systems.
  • Supervise construction activation, commissioning, and initial operations.
  • Solve technically challenging problems across multiple disciplines under program pressure.
