Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach is seeking a Design Engineer to design, fabricate, operate, and maintain Terran R launch pad facilities, contributing to a pioneering aerospace program. You will model fluid systems, piping, and gas infrastructure, supervise construction activation, and tackle complex problems across disciplines under schedule pressure.

A Bachelor's in engineering and 8+ years in design engineering are required; familiarity with ANSYS or piping software is a plus; Relativity Space

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years in full cycle design engineering (analysis, build, test).
  • Fundamental knowledge of incompressible & compressible flow, heat transfer, and pipe stress.
  • Strong project lifecycle and project management experience.
  • Hands-on hardware build experience and strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, operate, and maintain Terran R launch pad facilities.
  • Design launch pad propellant and gas infrastructure, including piping, diagrams, and BOMs.
  • Supervise construction activation, commissioning, and initial operations.
  • Solve technically challenging problems across multiple disciplines under programmatic pressure.
