Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Operations Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of production, refurbishment, and launch ground systems. You will lead investigations, implement durable fixes, and work with design, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to reduce downtime.

The role involves hands-on field work, developing tracking tools, and supporting new tool deployment across facilities; requires 2+ years in relevant areas, off-shift/weekend availability, and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years in manufacturing, test, integration, launch/ground operations, or reliability/maintenance engineering.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, fluids, electrical, or controls systems and driving fixes.
  • Structure problem-solving and root-cause methodology expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operational reliability of assigned processes, tooling, and ground systems.
  • Analyze downtime, delays, scrubs, rework, and nonconformances to identify high-risk areas.
  • Lead or support root cause investigations and implement systemic fixes.
  • Develop procedures, checkouts, and maintenance plans to stabilize execution.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, GSE, Quality, and Operations to implement improvements.
  • Support commissioning and stabilization of new tools and systems.
  • Build simple tracking tools to monitor reliability performance and guide priorities.
