Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Network Infrastructure Specialist to design and support layer 1 network infrastructure for critical launch, landing, and production facilities. You will plan and implement fiber and copper networks, voice systems, and mission-critical telemetry and video facilities across launch sites and production areas.

The role requires hands-on experience with fiber design, OSP/ISP projects, and intercom systems, plus ability to travel occasionally to support multi-site operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of experience in OSP and/or ISP fiber detailed design.
• Experience with wired and wireless voice intercom communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols.
• Conduct fiber optic detailed network design for middle mile and last mile fiber-based networks.
• Conduct project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.
• Assist in job walks and in determining needs for new installations and redesigns.
• Work with professional services and outsourcing functions as needed.
• Collaborate with staff and stakeholders on proper procedures for layer 1 infrastructure.
• Ensure all components and materials are clean and serviceable.
• Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of replacement hardware and tools.
• Acquire inventory parts for repair or replacement of defective components.
• Process, track and execute work orders and support tickets.
• Assist in vendor scheduling, installation, and subcontracting on large systems.
• Maintain documentation of job status and revisions.
• Develop ways to streamline processes and increase reliability of network functionality.
• Support infrastructure across land and sea based assets.
