Responsibilities
  • Perform modification, maintenance, checkout, adjustment, and assist in the development and operation of vehicle and Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, subsystems, and components including structural, hydraulic, propellant, pneumatic, and environmental control systems.
  • Determine methods and sequence of operations from instructions and data.
  • Assist engineering and technicians in fabricating, assembling, troubleshooting, and testing systems.
  • Perform post-launch repairs, flushing operations, and minor maintenance to prevent corrosion.
  • Work with or assist mechanics in other fields, following engineering or technician instructions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, shop theory, safety regulations, and equipment preparation for test launch.
  • Typically requires two years of technical training beyond high school plus one year of related mechanical experience.
  • Ability to operate basic shop equipment, use tools and computer systems, and work safely in various conditions and heights.
Desired Skills
  • Previous aerospace experience.
  • Knowledge of materials used in vehicle manufacture and propulsion.
Additional Information

This position requires a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and is based onsite at Vandenberg AFB, CA. The work schedule is standard Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
