Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Instrument Fitter for a contract, onsite role in Houston, TX. The candidate will install, fabricate, and maintain instrumentation and piping systems supporting launch/test environments, reading technical docs and working with engineering to ensure safe, reliable operation of critical systems.

The role requires hands-on tube bending, reading schematics, and experience with instrumentation in industrial settings, using various tools and measurement equipment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in tube bending and pipe customization.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, drawings, P&IDs.
• Hands-on with tube bending equipment and brand-name benders.
• Ability to apply offset formulas for precise tube routing.
• Experience with instrumentation and electrical systems in industrial environments.
• Proficiency with hand tools and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform tube bending and pipe customization to spec.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints and P&IDs for installation.
• Use tube bending equipment and verify tolerances.
• Integrate instrumentation and electrical systems in complex environments.
• Troubleshoot fabrication, installation and commissioning tasks.
• Record work using tablets/documentation tools.
