Gulf Island LLC in Houston, Texas, is seeking an Instrument Fitter to integrate instrumentation and electrical components into shelters and enclosures per detailed drawings. The role collaborates with I&E engineering and project management on shop floor improvements and documentation; most work is in a manufacturing setting with limited travel to field assignments.

Applicants should have 3+ years as an I&E tech, be able to read drawings, bend and test tubing, and pass background and drug checks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as an I&E Technician or related field.
• Willing to travel 10-25% for field assignments.
• Meticulous about capturing and retaining information.
• Analytical and detail oriented.
• Able to work in a team and explain issues clearly to team.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Record-keeping).
• Pre-employment drug screen.
• Background check.
• TWIC card desirable.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand engineered drawings.
• Complete material take off for project materials.
• Display knowledge of electrical circuits when assisting with electrical integration and other areas.
• Bend, run and test tubing installation.
• Run tubing from sample systems to analyzers and headers.
• Build sample systems.
• Install Dekoron, mount analyzers, sample systems and other instruments.
• Own and maintain safe work practices.
• Own and maintain quality work practices and final product quality.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
