Job summary

IFAB Corp. is seeking a hands-on APQP Engineer to own new product launches from quote to customer PPAP approval for metal parts produced by stamping, laser cutting, forming, welding, and coating. This launch-focused role sits on the production floor and excludes quality systems auditing.

You will lead APQP, prepare PPAP packages, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time launches and robust process validation.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on APQP/PPAP experience in an IATF 16949 plant.
Direct experience preparing and submitting customer PPAPs.
Working knowledge of metal manufacturing: stamping, welding, laser cutting, coating.
Strong command of AIAG core tools: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering.
On-site work in Gastonia, NC.

Responsibilities

Lead APQP for new and changed parts: build timing plans and gate reviews.
Prepare, compile, and submit PPAP packages and secure approval.
Create and own Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and work instructions.
Review drawings and GD&T to catch manufacturability and tooling risks.
Plan and run MSA, dimensional layouts, capability studies, and run-at-rate trials.
Serve as main quality contact for OEM customers during launch.
