Job summary

IFAB Corp. in Gastonia, NC is seeking an APQP Engineer to own the Advanced Product Quality Planning process from quote award through production launch.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, Production, Quality, and customers to plan, validate, and launch parts across stamping, laser cutting, tube bending, forming, welding, assembly, and finishing. The role requires 3+ years of APQP/PPAP experience, strong AIAG core tools knowledge, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

• 3+ years of APQP/PPAP experience in automotive, heavy truck, agricultural equipment, or related metal fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools and IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 requirements; ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with stamping, laser cutting, welding, coating processes is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the five phases of APQP for new and changed parts, managing timelines and gate reviews.
• Prepare and submit PPAP packages (Levels 1–5) per AIAG and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and work instructions; lead risk assessment.
• Review drawings, GD&T, specifications; lead manufacturability feasibility analyses.
• Plan and execute MSA, dimensional layouts, capability studies, and run-at-rate trials.
• Interface with OEM customers during launches and coordinate with suppliers on PPAPs.
• Manage engineering changes and update quality documentation for production transfers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa.
