Job summary

Meritage Homes in Texas is seeking a Starts Coordinator to ensure new home starts are timely and aligned with division goals. The role collaborates with construction, scheduling, mortgage, design studio, and municipalities to gather information and drive the start process.

You will track permits, plot plans, and municipal requirements, while maintaining multiple Excel trackers and communicating status to Production Managers and Trades. This is a fast-paced, office-based position.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• 5+ years in an office support role, construction background preferred.
• Strong computer skills in Windows Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage the starts schedule, including permits and lot information.
• Coordinate with construction, scheduling, mortgage, design studio, and municipalities to start homes.
• Request documents and monitor pre-start milestones and permit requirements.
• Review plot plans for accuracy before submission to municipalities.
• Monitor permit applications and communicate status to key stakeholders.
• Maintain multiple Excel trackers for sales, plots, permits, costs, options, and statuses.
• Communicate status updates to trades and internal teams as information becomes available.
