La Huerta Market in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Kitchen Prep to assist in preparing ingredients and ensuring they are ready for the main cooks, while helping with packaging of select items. You will maintain cleanliness, follow safety protocols, and support the kitchen team during peak hours, holidays, and weekends, with opportunities to contribute to Mexican/Latin dishes.

Experience in a kitchen is preferred; a Food Workers Card is required; must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30

Qualifications

• Food Workers Card is required.
• Reliable commute to work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical ability to stand and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Flexible schedule around holidays and weekends.
• Previous kitchen experience preferred.
• Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment and recipes.
• Mexican/Latin cuisine specialty is a plus.
• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high customer demand.

• Support cooks during high-demand periods.
• Ensure all products comply with food safety before serving.
• Assist cooks with new menu items or seasonal items when needed.
• Follow guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and manage temperatures.
