Job summary

MARSHALLTOWN Hammer in Walnut Ridge, AR is seeking a Defiance and Zuckerman Lathe Setup Operator to sharpen, shape, and maintain cutting tools, cams and knives used in production. You will set knives and cams on machines, adjust feeds, and ensure quality finishes in a fast-paced shop.

Candidates should have mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and write English, with experience in tool sharpening and machine adjustments.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and ability to meet production requirements.
• Experience using standard methods for tool sharpening and machine adjustments.
• Able to use common hand, air, and power tools and read English.

Responsibilities

• Sharpen cutting tools and shape cams and knives according to specified patterns.
• Set knives and cams on machines to achieve the desired size, shape, and finish.
• Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure proper feed and size maintenance.
• Perform routine measurements and report results to quality control.
• Tear down various shop machines for repairs, diagnose issues, and replace parts as needed.
• Maintain proper working condition of shop electrical equipment, including wiring, motors, starters, switches, and panel boards.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Meet various hourly production goals.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Actively ensure that all safety requirements and procedures are met at all times
• Other duties and project work as assigned by supervisors
