Modern Industries, Inc. seeks an experienced Lathe Machinist for the 3rd shift in Phoenix, AZ. The candidate will load/unload, monitor feeds and speeds, and ensure parts meet specifications using GD&T and Renishaw probing.

Proficiency with Fanuc controllers and tool setup is required, with emphasis on first-run programming and precision measurement. Ideal candidates have 7–10 years of experience, strong math skills, and a solid understanding of metallurgy.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of lathe machining experience required.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and datum structures.
• Experience with Fanuc controllers and Renishaw probing preferred.
• Ability to program basics and set up tooling for first run.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, start, and stop machines; monitor feeds and speeds.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance with drawings and tolerances.
• Identify tool wear and machine vibrations; adjust as needed.
• Set up fixtures, tools, and programs for first run and repeat parts.
• Maintain knowledge of machine tools and routine maintenance.
