Job summary

The Lane County Sheriff's Office seeks experienced patrol deputies to serve diverse communities across urban, rural, coastal, and wilderness areas in Oregon.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Two years of experience dealing with the public.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
• Possession of a current Oregon driver’s license at the time of appointment.
• Current Oregon DPSST patrol certification, or comparable out-of-state law enforcement certification that may qualify under Oregon DPSST requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform patrol duties across Lane County’s urban, rural, coastal, and wilderness areas.
• Respond to emergencies, investigate crimes, and ensure public safety.
• Provide transport and security support for courts and prisoners.
• Support certified patrol operations and engage in community-based public safety.
