Job summary

Thurston County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified deputies under a lateral incentive program. The position involves patrol duties, investigations, and court/jail responsibilities within Thurston County.

Eligible laterals may apply for specialty assignments after field training and have vacation and sick leave benefits at hire. Starting annual base salary includes up to $108,348 with additional leave options.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen, or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must hold CJTC-recognized law enforcement certification
• Able to obtain Washington equivalency within 12 months
• Experience in law enforcement investigations and reports

Responsibilities

• Patrols designated county areas by car, boat, or on foot and deters crime.
• Responds to incidents; conducts interviews, collects evidence, and completes reports.
• Arrests suspects and handles warrants as assigned.
• Assists in court, jail security, and transfer of prisoners.
• Performs specialized duties per assignment and maintains public safety.
