Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; U.S. Citizen, lawful status, or DACA recipient with no felony convictions.
• Must have WA State CJTC Basic Law Enforcement Academy Certificate or equivalent, or valid certification from a WA State academy.
• Have completed testing process and been hired by another jurisdiction from a civil service list or similar.
• At least 12 months continuous work experience as a full-time peace officer.
• No more than 12-month break in service from most recent agency.
• Must pass an oral board to assess knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must meet Civil Service standards; Veterans' Preference documentation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols designated county area in a patrol car, boat, or on foot to deter crime and respond to incidents.
• Enforce laws, issue citations, serve warrants, and make arrests as needed.
• Record reports detailing incidents, evidence, and witnesses; conduct investigations and interviews.
• Administer first aid at scenes and coordinate with other units as required.
• Testify in court and perform other duties as assigned.
